Obituary

Lois Mae (Blackburn) Wilson (96) passed peacefully in her sleep on July 14, 2017. She was born February 23, 1921, and was raised in her beloved Flint Hills with her brother, sister and parents, Clifford and Alpha Blackburn, all deceased. She attended Kansas University where she met and married her husband, Max Wilson, deceased September 2002. They survived World War II and had three children, Charlie Wilson (Nancy), Libby Wilson and Mary Wilson, all of Wichita; five grand children, Melanie, Megan, Sarah, Matthew and Jake, and great grandchildren Lucia, Elena, Leo and twin great granddaughters due in October. Lois loved the Lord, and will be remembered as a great wife, mother and grandmother, a Jayhawker, friend, teacher, reader, golfer, bridge player and lover of life. If you were her student at Plainville (Kansas) High School, she cared about you. She will be missed by many. We will celebrate Lois' life on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 1:00pm, Chapel Hill UMC, 1550 North Chapel Hill St., Wichita, KS 67206. Funeral arrangements made through Baker Funeral Home-Wichita. Memorials have been established in lieu of flowers at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, Wichita and Botanica, the Wichita Gardens.
