William Joel Coonfield, 79, of Pratt, Kansas, passed away at his home on January 15, 2025. He was born August 28th, 1945 to Geraldine and Kenneth Coonfield. He was raised by his grandmother, Permelia, in Wyandotte, Kansas. He was a Marine Corps Veteran who served in Vietnam. He worked at the Kansas City Star for some time. He fell in love and married his first wife, Sharron and they had a daughter, Joel Kay Coonfield. He went on to be inclined to the motorcycle life after his service with the Marines. He spent his years at that time in California where he lived a fast life and was able to see many things as well as meeting his second wife, Mickey. Together they raised twin boys, John and Chuck, whom he taught to be men. As some years passed, his restlessness took him to Arizona where he met his third wife, Donna. Bill and Donna had three children, Desirae, Billy and Walker. Around that time his oldest daughter had his first grandchildren. Anthony, Brianna and John. He loved being a Grandpa over anything and was called so by many. His family with Donna ended up settling in Pratt, where his children Desirae, Billy and Walker gave him more grandchildren. Desirae had a daughter and a son, Tara and Aiden. Billy had a daughter, Zailyn and Walker had a daughter, Elizabeth. He loved them all very much. His grandkids, Brianna and John went on to make him a great-grandpa. He thought that was so cool. Brianna had twin girls, Adrianna and Arianna followed by son, Ashton. John added Lennox and Laila. Time was not always kind and he lost his wife, Donna, and youngest son, Walker, a year apart. As age was coming upon him, he enjoyed the simpler things, like going to the American Legion on Sundays and watching the news with his cats. The people of Pratt always saw him riding his scooter around and often said "There goes grandpa!" He loved that title. Though he is missed very dearly, there is some solace that he does not have to miss his son Walker any longer. His heart is troubled by his losses no more. There is a spot missing with him gone next to those still around. This spot is dedicated to a moment of time for more to know the great man that he was. He is proceeded in death by his wives, son Walker, and great-grandson Ashton. He will be remembered. A gathering will take place at a later time. Semper Fidelis.
