On Saturday, August 16, 2025, Wade Cowan passed away at the age of 42 years. Wade was taken far too soon after a 4 year battle with cancer. He was born on March 13, 1983 in Emporia, Kansas.

He never wavered in his fight and was very determined to live a normal life. He enjoyed his job at Vallen Distribution in Wichita, KS where he worked until shortly before his death.

Wade graduated from Belle Plaine High School, where he participated in football and basketball. He enjoyed watching sporting events and especially liked attending his nephew's games. He was a Jayhawk and Chiefs fan as well.

Survivors include parents, Bill and Karen Cowan of Derby, KS, sister, Stacy (Matt) Green of Wichita, KS, brother, Chad Cowan of Wichita, KS, nephews, Corbin, Carson, and Cooper Green as well as three aunts and eleven cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Stuart and Iola Cowan, and Rudy and Cornelia Schmidt, uncles Bill (Sharon) Hoover, Steve (Betty) Selby, Jay (Margie) Stine, Roger (Dee)  Schmidt, and aunt, Sharon (Bill) Hoover.
