Celebration of Life: Vida Mae Singleton
Vida Singleton, age 85, of Wichita Kansas, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2024. She was born on March 19 of 1939 in Hoisington Ks. Vida was a beloved mother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and vibrant spirit.
Vida was known for the remarkable way she persevered through life with its ups and downs. She will always be a beacon and role model to her grandchildren who she had an unwavering adoration for.
She will also be known for her commitment to her son Ronnie Karst, ensuring he lived a fulfilled life. Ronnie participated in many activities, such as the Special Olympics, and working for Pizza Hut for many years.
Vida Singleton was employed at Southwestern Bell and AT&T for 33 years as an operator, and repair dispatcher. She spent those years in Hays, Topeka, and Wichita Kansas. After retirement in Wichita, Vida kept active, working at Open Arms Child Development Center for 12 more years, where she interacted with many young children and staff. She truly wanted to make a difference for young people.
Vida Singleton is survived by her two daughters: Karen Younger (Stan) of New Braunfels Texas and Janet Singleton of Wichita Kansas. She has three grandchildren, Jennifer Wyatt (Ruston), Amanda Breen (Matt), and Brady Molina (Shannon Nadres). Vida is survived by 5 Great Grandchildren: Riann Yancy, Dilann Wyatt, Logan Breen, Presley Breen, and Remi Molina. She is also survived by brother Don Popp (Hoisington Ks), and sisters Gloria Arnberger (Dennis) and Debra Richardson (both Great Bend Ks). Vida was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Esther Popp, her son Ronald Karst, her Brother Duane Popp.
A celebration of Vida Singleton's life will be held on September 14, 2024, at Open Arms Child Development Center at 11:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to join us in remembering and honoring her beautiful journey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Open Arms Child Development Center, 12885 W Maple St. Wichita Ks.
