Vickie Hershberger, a devoted follower of Christ, ascended to her heavenly home on Saturday, January 20, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on April 2, 1948, to George and Melba & Louise Smith, Vickie found solace in her faith and shared it with everyone she knew.

Raised with her siblings, Montie, Terry, and Jan, Vickie's life was a testament to Christian values of love, compassion, and family. She is survived by her cherished children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life. In her journey, she leaves behind Jason and Danelle Sommerfeld and their children, Collin, Carson, Callie & Carter; Dana & Kevin Law and their children, Aden, Ava, Adler & Atlas; and Damen & Natalie Hershberger and their children, Jack, Lucy, Fletcher & Guy.

Vickie's steadfast devotion extended to her husband of 50 years, Grover Hershberger, who preceded her in death. Together, they exemplified the sacred bond of marriage. In the midst of life's trials, she faced the heartbreaking loss of their young son, Davlyn Hershberger. Instead of letting the sorrow consume her, she turned to the Lord for solace and strength. Through the tears and heartache, Vickie's connection with God
deepened, and her trust in His plan became an anchor during life's storms. Her life was a reflection of Christian virtues — a love for the Lord that guided her every step, and an unwavering commitment to her family. Vickie's kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her resilience was anchored in the hope of resurrection through Jesus Christ. Her faith became a source of inspiration for those around her, a beacon of light even in the darkest of moments.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 1:00p.m. at Eastminster Church in the Chapel, 1958 N Webb Rd, Wichita, Kansas. May Vickie's soul rest in eternal peace, and her family will find comfort in the promise of a joyous reunion in the heavenly kingdom.
