Obituary

Theodore Ray Jackson, 76, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on the morning of Christmas Eve, at his home accompanied by family. He was born in Fredonia, Kansas on November 9th, 1949 to Theodore T. Jackson and Ollie T. Mondy-Jackson.

Theodore (Ted) graduated from Fredonia High School in 1968. He joined the Air Force and served his country for 4 years, with an honorable discharge in 1973.

He started working for Boeing Aerosystems in Washington. Later he moved to Wichita, Kansas and started working for Cessna until he got on at Boeing of Wichita. He worked in Blue Streak where he was a bench mechanic and later as a Burr Hand for Spirit Aerosystems, where he worked until he retired. He retired from Spirit/Boeing after 36 years. He always said that he wished he would have worked a few more years. He was an IAM member and a member of the American Legion.

Ted married Doe in 1976. They had two daughters: Sara and Tara (Resa).

Ted met Janice Harris and then later, they married on June 19th of 1999. They started leasing 5 acres west of Valley Center, then eventually bought it, to start their homestead. They enjoyed all the room and would have family gatherings, weekend sleep outs on their land, swimming for their great-grandchildren, Easter Egg Hunts for the children and even BEER hunts for the adults, along with many BBQ's. Ted and Janice were all about family!

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Jackson Sr. and Ollie Mondy Jackson, brothers Bill Jackson, Jerry Jackson, Tommy Jackson and a sister Mirma Jean Anderson. Survivors include his brothers Marlon Jackson of Burlingame, Kansas and Theron Jackson of Pittsburg, Kansas, sisters Nanette Bradley and LaDonna Jackson Martinez from Fredonia, Kansas, daughters Sara D. Pennington and Tara Boyd both of Wichita, Kansas. Ted has 4 stepchildren LaSonda Smith of Wichita, Kansas, Michael Michelle Tate (deceased), Bub Tate of Wichita, Kansas and Jessie Tate of Douglass, Kansas. He has 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Victory Community of Faith Church at 1016 East Pawnee Wichita, Kansas 67211 on January 10th at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, he would love it if you supported his sons-in-law church, where services will be held. If you prefer to send flowers, they can be sent to the church's address as well.
