Thelma Eileen Henriques went home to be with the Lord on her 80th birthday, August 22, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Thelma Ward; her siblings, Carol Estes and Glen Ward; her first husband, Richard Meyers; and her second husband, Don Henriques.

Thelma is survived by her children, Laura Meyers and Stephen Meyers; grandchildren, Amy Brown, Jake Meyers, Avrie Meyers Collier, and Cade Meyers; and her siblings, Myrna Monroe, Loren Ward and Dennis Ward.

Thelma was a fun-loving, intelligent, capable, and independent woman. A Bible-believing Christian with a strong, lifelong faith, she regularly shared her beliefs with others and spoke with anticipation of her heavenly home. She was a member of several churches during her lifetime, participating in Bible studies, conferences, choir, and community outreach over the years. An avid reader, her favorite book was the Bible, which she turned to daily for comfort, wisdom, and guidance. She also enjoyed fictional stories across many genres, with a particular fondness for tales set in pioneer days.

She loved traveling and meeting new people. While married to Richard, they traveled the United States full-time for many years, and she enjoyed the beautiful scenery, historic places, and interesting people they encountered along the way. Later in life, she frequently returned to her favorite campgrounds in Arizona, Washington, and Colorado, where she reconnected with old friends and met new ones. Her miniature dachshund, Annie, was her constant companion throughout these journeys. She was traveling independently before her sudden illness in July 2024.

In accordance with her wishes, no formal service was held, and her ashes will be scattered at several locations that held special meaning to her.
