Terry Keith Winter

Terry Keith Winter, 74, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026.

Terry was born on December 7, 1951, in Hillsboro, Kansas, to Eddie and Pauline Winter. On July 4, 1999, he married Janet Adams, blending their families and sharing many years of love, partnership, and companionship.

A hardworking and dedicated man, Terry spent his career in service to his community. He was employed by Hillsboro Industries and Uniflo Conveyor before retiring from the City of Wichita Public Works Department. During his time with the city, he worked on streets and bridges, served as a yard manager, and assisted with snow removal—a task he was well known for not enjoying, but one he fulfilled with commitment nonetheless.

Outside of work, Terry had a passion for finding hidden treasures. He loved fixing items and reselling them, operating booths at local flea markets and always searching for the next great buy. His resourcefulness and eye for value were well known among friends and family.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Pauline Winter, and his brothers, Steven and Ken Winter.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Winter; daughters Mistie (John) Burnett and Mandy (Steve) Abernathy; sons Charles (Sophie) Winter and Brandon Winter; stepchildren Janelle Adams, Krystal Shields, and Mark (Debra) Adams II; 18 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

A private family service will be held on February 1, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at 2919 W. 2nd Street North, Wichita, Kansas 67203.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Terry's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wichita Animal Action League.
