Sue Marilyn Mitchell, 81, of Wichita KS, passed away on Friday November 17 th at Life Care Center of Andover. She was born on August 10, 1942, in Wichita, KS. She is the daughter of Roger and Viola Watkins (Ford).

Sue was a manager in the bakery department at Dillons grocery stores and retired in 2007. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, and occasionally playing the lottery. She married Russell Warren Mitchell on August 3, 1956, he preceded her in death on March 3rd , 2011, after 55 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Viola Watkins, daughter Monty Montgomery, and son, Matthew Mitchell.
Beloved to her and survived by her include daughters Penelope Lynn Taylor and Carolyn Sue Haefele, both of Wichita, KS; grandchildren Brandy Bishop, Shawn Crowell, Alanna Bishop, Joshua Crowell, Brittany Haefele, Rocky Jones, James Haefele, Chance Jones, and Thomas Haefele; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Sue was so many things: a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be remembered for her strong personality and wittiness. She was always making someone laugh and cared for people in the most loving way. She would put others first and nothing meant more to her than her family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday November 27 th , 2023, at Baker Funeral Home of Wichita. Memorials may be given to the Life Care Center of Andover or Compassus Hospice in her name.
