Sue Carol Dickey

Sue Carol Dickey (Vaught), of Haysville, Kansas, was born on September 28, 1944, in Pryor, Oklahoma, and entered eternal life on September 28, 2026. Sue married the love of her life, Terry Dickey, on August 5, 1967, and together they shared 55 loving years of marriage before his passing. They were blessed with three children, Jeffrey, Tara, and Steven, whom they raised in Haysville, Kansas, where Sue lived for the remainder of her life. Sue was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She spent much of her life as a stay-at-home mom and grandma while also working various part-time jobs, eventually retiring as a receptionist at a doctor’s office in Haysville. Sue was a selfless person who was always willing to help anyone in need. She had a deep and unwavering love for Jesus, and it was her mission to make sure others knew Him and His love. She loved going to church, spending time with family, cheering on OU football, and sitting around her kitchen bar with her children and grandchildren, solving the world’s problems. One of her greatest blessings was being a Grandma and GG. In recent years, Sue also found an unexpected companion in E.R., a cat she never imagined she would love. Above all, Sue loved her family deeply, and her faith, kindness, humor, and love will continue to live on through them.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband Terry Dickey; parents, Theodore and Minnie Vaught; and her siblings, Jackie Wayne Vaught, Freddy Vaught, Gerry Hildebrant, and Norma Nellis. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Dickey, Tara (Darin) Mallernee, and Steven (Rebecca) Dickey; nine grandchildren, Caitlin (Joe) Enterkin, Luke (Cassidy) Payne, Brooke Dickey (Kyle), Emma (Zack) Taylor, Blake (Jessica) Dickey, Tayla (Evan) Porter, Nicole (Omar) Martinez, Amber Dickey, and Cami Dickey; thirteen great-grandchildren, Peyton, Ellie, Evan, Theo, Mallory, Hudson, Graham, Bristyn, Ryder, Remi, Navy, Sage, and Hayes; and her honorary daughter and grandson, Jamie Rader and her son, Wyatt. Sue will be deeply missed, but her family finds comfort knowing she is now with Jesus, whom she loved so dearly. Her greatest legacy is the love and faith she shared with those around her.
