Our loving mom and grandma, Sue Katherine Bridges (Ware) of Park City, KS, went peacefully into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by her family, on Friday, January 17, 2025. At the age of 83, she was still feisty and full of love for Jesus, her family, and her dogs.

Sue was born on September 23, 1941, in Ponca City, OK, to Ernest and Lucy Mae Belle (Dyson) Ware. Her mother raised her and her siblings in Ponca City, where Sue went to school and had her first job at the Dixie Dog. Sue's adventures in life took her to live in different places such as Texas, Kansas, and Iowa.

On January 29, 1970, Sue married John R. Bridges, Sr, and they settled in Arkansas City, KS, to raise their family. Sue had different memorable jobs through her life, with the last being a department manager at Kmart. Sue and John loved dogs and had many different breeds throughout the years. Their favorite was their yorkies which they bred and raised for over 20 years. Sue called them her four-legged babies and made sure each one of them was spoiled rotten. Sue also made sure her grand-dogs were spoiled too. The dogs were definitely a big part of her life, especially the last several years, as she said they always give unconditional love.

Sue had 6 children of which she was very proud of Nancy Louise Beach (Jim), Billie Sue Harless, Baby girl, Elizabeth Renee Mater (Dan), Shelley Ann Williams, John Robert Bridges, Jr. (Tina). Sue also had grandchildren which brought much joy to her heart: Brian, Luci, Cody, Tina, Dustin, Devon, Alex, Colin, Lily, Amanda, Julie, Kahle, Jakoda, Jacquelyn, Brett, along with 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Sue always looked forward to loving on all the babies.

Sue enjoyed being on Facebook and she made lots of cherished friends there. She believed that everyone needed to hear about Jesus and Facebook was the best place to do it. Sue also enjoyed her TV programs with Law And Order being her favorite. You could always count on her to record all the Hallmark Christmas movies too. Sue loved to get out and shop, never passing up a trip to Walmart, always keeping an eye out for new shoes or purses. She also had many black Friday adventures that brought her lots of laughter. Sue loved her coffee and diet coke. She found peace sitting in her daughter Shelley's flower garden drinking coffee, playing with the yorkies, and watching the birds. Her favorite things to collect were gnomes, angels, and coffee cups.

Sue overcome many health battles in her last years as she was determined to be there for her family and make sure they all knew Jesus. She would often sing the song, "Wait A Little Longer Please Jesus", wanting more time with her family.

Sue was proceeded in death by her mom, husband and his parents (John & Ruth), daughter Billie Sue, Baby girl, and siblings: Patricia, Ernestine, Richard, Nancy, and Beverly Lynn. There are many left here to still cherish her memories and celebrate her life. She is survived by her yorkie PJ, her other children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, grand-dogs, brother David Ware (Rose), sister Charlotte Jones (Bud), niece Shirlie Richie, other nieces, nephews, and many good friends.

We would like to thank all the people who have reached out showing her and her family love and offering assistance during this difficult time. Also a special thanks to her medical team: Dr Tauke, Bridgette, Jenna, Joyce, Dylan, and the Kansas Heart Hospital staff for taking amazing care of her.

We will have a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, February 8th, 12 pm, at the Vine Community Church, 504 West Harry, Wichita, KS. Elohim Shomri: The Creator, her Protector, has welcomed her back home into His arms. We will see you again soon mama. Love you forever.
