Obituary

Stanley (Stan the Man) Leon Lewis, 61, of Wichita, KS, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024 at his longtime home. He was born on August 9, 1962 in Wichita, KS, the son of Janis G. Heuett and Billy Lewis and graduated from Wichita North High School.

Stan was a lifelong collector of model cars and found joy in spending time collecting, building and display his model cars at his home. He was also known for his love of classic rock music including his favorite bands, the Rolling Stones, and Bad Company.  During his life, he was also lifelong fan of John Wayne, Star Wars, and Western movies and loved to display his collection of John Wayne memorabilia. He also was very passionate and die-hard fan of the Dalla Cowboys. More importantly, Stan was known for his ornery personality and his ability to crack a joke and lighten the mood wherever he was at. He was one of the funniest people in the family and we will miss his humor and ability to make others smile.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Steve Reed (2021) and Shenelle Heuett (2024). Survivors include son, Dr. Jacob Mendez-Lewis (Wichita) and Siblings; Sherri Reed of Wichita, KS, Stephanie Sutton of Ponca City, OK, Scott Lewis of Wichita, KS, Suzette Kester of Joplin, MO, Shelley Heuett of Chula Vista, CA, and Shawn Heuett of Wichita, KS.  He is already survived by many nieces and nephews who he loved very much and was proud of.

Stan's Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Details will be announced at a later time.
