Sigrid A. Trombley passed away on January 15, 2026 in Wichita KS. She was born near Hammond Indiana on March 7, 1942, to Walter and Sara Kallberg Trombley who both predeceased her. Sigrid was also predeceased by her longtime partner, Lila Arnold and her brother, Marcus Trombley.

Sigrid is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many dear friends including those from her church community at First Unitarian Universalist Church in Wichita KS, and the children of her partner, Lila Arnold (Laurie Showell (Judy), Gregg Arnold (Ginny), and Jay Arnold (Stacy). Lila predeceased Sigrid in November of 2023. Sigrid is also survived by her two orange tabby cats named Teddy and Poppy and had made arrangements for them to be adopted by friend, Sally, upon her death.

Sigrid earned several degrees during her college days including a Masters in library science and educational media and a PhD in instructional development and technology with a minor in educational psychology. Her work life included college professor, IT at Boeing Wichita and many years as a grant writer at USD 259.

She was a devoted reader, photographer and foodie who loved to cook and explore new and creative recipes as evidenced by her collection of hundreds of cookbooks. She loved spending time with her family, friends and church community. She enjoyed strolling through Botanica Wichita, traveling, reading, listening to music, fine dining, exploring new restaurants, supporting political causes, and socializing.

She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and a multitude of friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Unitarian Universalist Church on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 2:00 pm.
