Shelly Rae Banks
May 25, 1961 – January 13, 2026

Shelly Rae Banks, age 64 of El Dorado Kansas passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, surrounded by love, at Harry Hynes Hospice Center Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita KS.

Born on May 25, 1961  in Great Bend, Kansas.

Shelly was the beloved daughter of Robert & Norma (Pfeifer) Banks.  Shelly grew up in the country south of Vanora School.  She enjoyed everything outdoors, riding bikes, playing in the river and ice skating on the frozen creek by the house.  She attended school at Vanora and Oil Hill Elementary in El Dorado Kansas.

Shelly is a Cirlcle High School graduate, Class of 1979. Shelly spent her career as a Food Service Manager at Via Christi St. Francis.  She loved working in food service and taking care of patients visitors and workers at the Hospital.  Throughout her life she was always kind, dedicated, and enjoyed giving of herself in her work.

Shelly is survived by her sister, Lisa (Banks) Haines, Scott, brother Scott Banks, brother Jeffrey Banks,Becky.  She is also survived by neices Holly(Haines) Bright, Jason, Heidi (Haines) Rose Jeremy,  Whitney(Banks) Belford Chris, Courtney (Banks) Clark, Aaron, Hannah(Holem) Cave, Jeremy and nephews, Jeffrey Banks, Megan, Preston Banks, Katrina, Ryan Holem.  Aunts Sheryl Pfeifer and Virginia (Pfeifer) Hein, and many great nieces and nephews

Shelly was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Norma Banks, her grandparents  Robert L. and Marie S. Banks, and Celestine and Monica Pfeifer and niece Alycia (Banks) Decker, her uncles Art Pfeifer and Jim Pfeifer.

A memorial celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Baker Funeral Home, Wichita KS
