Sharon Kay
Behrens
Mar 2, 1941 — Feb 24, 2025
Wichita
In the early morning hours of February 24, 2025, Sharon Kay Behrens passed from this world leaving behind her devoted husband of sixty-six years, Jerry, their three daughters and spouses: Chele and Jeff, Stephanie and Brad, and Cynthia and Michael; five beloved grandchildren: Grandson Easten Fry, granddaughters Kelsey Jennings (Kyle), Harper Barkley (Nicholas) Emily Burnett (Brendan) and Marisa Zajkowski; and perhaps even more beloved, her great-grandchildren: Addison and Briella Fry, and Parker Jennings. Also mourning her passing are her brother Michael Staggs, his wife Diane and their family, and sister-in-law Mary Lynn Behrens.
Born Sharon Kay Harper on March 2, 1941, she developed her talents for sewing early and grew into a gifted seamstress. As an alterations expert, knitter, crocheter, mender, tailor, designer, pattern maker, anything you needed done, she could do—perfectly. As talented as she was with her hands she was equally talented as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, teaching us all to be kind and forgiving, but when warranted—tough as hell.
Sharon left an impression on everyone she met, and not just because of her quick wit and no-nonsense attitude. She taught by example: be polite, work hard, stand your ground, and always put in your best effort—whether in life or in a perfectly finished hem.
