Ruth Janice Sheridan

Ruth Janice (Metsch) Sheridan, 89, of Newton, KS passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026 at her home. She was born October 10, 1936, Peabody, KS, the daughter of John T. and Margaret (Stokes) Metsch.

Ruth graduated from Peabody High School in 1954. In 1954 she married Duane R. Sheridan of Peabody. She was an avid lover of dogs and enjoyed showing her Dobermans in many dog shows.

She is survived by her son, Randy, of Augusta, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane, in 2013 and a son, John, as well as her parents, John T. and Margaret Metsch and her brother, John.

She will be buried at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody, KS with no graveside services.
