Rudolph Joseph Perez, Sr.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rudy Perez Sr. on October 9, 2026, at the age of 91. Rudy was born Rudolph Joseph to Glen T and Ruth R Perez on May 6, 1935 in Garden City, Kansas.

Rudy met the love of his life and beloved wife, Gloria Jean Rojas in Garden City, Kansas and they were married on May 3, 1958. Together, they had five children- Valerie, Rudy Jr., Gary, Troy, and Leslie.

Rudy began working at a young age and was co-owner of the Sinclair station in Garden City before working for and eventually becoming Parts Manager at Kemper Electric. After retiring from Kemper’s and moving to California with Gloria, he went on to own a landscaping business and then retired from Home Depot before moving back to Wichita in 2005.

Rudy was preceded in death by wife, Gloria, parents, Glen and Ruth Perez, Sisters, Geraldine Duran, Carmen Torres, and infant sister, Marie.

He is survived by children; Valerie Williams, Rudy and wife, Shelley Polk, Gary, Troy, Leslie and husband Loren Pack, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Garden City or to the American Heart Association.

Funeral services are under the direction of Garnand Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass for Rudy will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Garden City on November 14th, 2026 at 10:00 AM.

Rudy and Gloria’s final resting place will be at Valleyview Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas and burial for both will take place after the Mass.
