Obituary

Roxanna Bevan went to be with our Holy Savior on August 27, 2025. Roxanna was born in Thermopolis, WY, on April 11, 1929, to Orin Gifford and Jane Maria (Lillibridge) Jenkins.


She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Bevan; sons Steven and Starr (Debbie), all of Wichita, KS; son-in-law Roger (Susan) Dickson, of Covington, LA; and granddaughter Samantha (Ryan) Cheatum of Wichita, KS.

Roxanna is survived by her daughters: Susan Dickson of Covington, LA; and, Sheri (Pete) Resa of Lenexa, KS. Grandchildren include Eric Dickson, Edmond, OK; Andrew Dickson, Covington, LA; Allen (Karly) Dickson, Houma, LA; Ben (Barbara) Dickson, Lake Charles, LA; Skye (Lindsey) Bevan, Wichita, KS; Vanessa Walker, McPherson, KS; and Erin (Jason) Swindler, Andover, KS. Nine great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.


Roxanna and her husband, Vernon, loved to travel and often took day trips to see the countryside. They especially loved the Fall colors. She worked as a graphic artist where she created art for businesses in Wichita, KS, Oklahoma City, OK, and Sacramento, CA. Over the years, she often volunteered at the local Southern Baptist Church. Together as a hobby, Roxanna and Vernon created many stained-glass items including a large stained-glass window that is currently displayed at the Fair Oaks First Baptist Church in the Sacramento, CA, area.

Visitation will be held at Baker Funeral Home - 6100 E. Central - Wichita, Kansas on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 11:00 - noon.  A graveside service will follow at the Bruno Township Cemetery in Andover, Kansas.
