Roger Ernest
Olson
Oct 28, 1948 — Apr 6, 2024
Wichita
Roger Ernest Olson passed away April 6th, 2024, in Wichita, KS, surrounded by family after a year-long battle with Terminal Cancer. Born to Ophelia Griffey (Mai) on October 28th, 1948 in Wichita, KS, Roger was a spirited child and the middle of three brothers. He joined the Army after attending North High School and served in Vietnam as a cook and co-pilot for Huey helicopters. Upon leaving the service he lived in Colorado before ultimately returning home to Wichita and starting a career with the Boeing Company as a machinist.
Though married before, he ultimately married the love of his life, Augusta Ann Olson (Little) on August 7th, 1991 and they resided together in Wichita, raising two sons and being a Dog Father to many adorable pups! He had a love of life and laughter, was an excellent cook, and was obsessed with golfing and his beloved Kansas City Chiefs.
He was preceded in death by his mother and elder brother, William Mochon of Valley Center, KS. Surviving family includes his wife, Augusta, younger brother Stephen Griffey of Wichita, KS, sons Derek and Justin Campbell of Wichita, KS, and a lovable little Ewok of a dog, Lily.
In lieu of a service, Roger wished to be cremated and have his ashes scattered in the wilds of Colorado.
