Robert Joseph Masters Jr. Born to Sharon-Terrill- Masters & Robert Masters Sr. at 5:29am March 16th 1963 in Wichita, Kansas. He passed away June 10th 2025 in Winfield, Kansas

Preceded in death by his sister, Renea Davis, father, Robert Masters (Bob), brothers, Jeff Masters & Clovis Mckaskle, niece, Shanna Masters and niece, Megan Fletcher. He is survived by his girlfriend of 17 years Becky Asbury. Children, Candance Masters (Jammie), Ryan Masters (Jennifer), Rex Masters (Ashley) Garron Peterson (Alisha) Reva Kassik (Curtis) Caleb Masters (Ella) Josh Thomas (Lauren), Aubrey Masters, & Axton Masters. His mother, Sharon Dredge & Stepfather, Lavern Dredge, Stepmother, Bernadine Masters, brothers, James Masters, Patrick Woodman (Donia) and sisters Lisa Cantarero, (Wilmer) Cindy Davis (Rick Knapp), Lisa Goodwin, Shannon Sisco (Kevin), LaVonne Gardner (Casey) and 14 grandchildren, Jamasia (Nae), Aspen, Zaylen, Aminah, Paige, Heath, Myles, Audrianna, Gracilyn, Rowan, Rhyatt, Maddie, Colton, Jackson. Great grandson JayAire & many other Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Aunts, Uncles & beloved Friends along with his canine companions Bo & Misty Rain.

Joe went to Circle High in Towanda. He always told us he went to "The school of Hard knocks" and that is true. His life was not easy. He had to grow up too fast and it showed. He and his brothers and sisters worked in the fields bailing hay for their father when they were young.

He was united in marriage twice.  First to Tracy Ketterman from 1980 to 1984. and Shelly Thomas 1993 to 2013.

While helping someone who had backed into a ditch he was struck by a pickup that nearly took his life at the age of 27.  He had 7 broken vertebrae in his neck and back. He wore a Halo brace for six months; and was told he would never walk again. Against all odds he started his own business, Master Built Basements, putting basements under existing homes for many years. After he was no longer able to work in the basement business, he did any kind of work he found, trimming trees, cutting firewood, and some cement construction work.  He was a man that could do anything he set his mind to till he no longer could.

Joe not only loved people, he loved animals of all kinds. He had horses growing up, and at the time of his death he had  Bo, his loyal German Shepherd, Squiggles a Bearded Dragon and a Raccoon named Striven.

He was such a good son. I loved when he would squeeze my hand and tell me "I sure do love you mom" And I would tell him "I love him too...very much." Candi was his # 1, but he always said he loved ALL of his kids the same and enjoyed spending as much time with his grandkids as he could. He genuinely loved his family!

It was hard for him when he got sick because he was a very hard worker and was not used to asking for help. Joe loved people and would give his last cent to anyone in need.

Becky was there through the good and bad. She took care of him when it wasn't easy. He could make it difficult at times.  Joe wasn't perfect but he was a very good man with a heart of gold.

He always wanted to go back to California and pan for gold. He was fixing up an older camper so they could go this Summer when he was diagnosed with cancer. He truly believed he would get well so they could go. His son, Caleb, plans to make part of this happen by taking some of his ashes there.
