Obituary

Robert A. Heffley, salesman, golfer, car buff, loving cousin and loyal friend, died March 13, 2026 in Wichita, Kansas. He was 76 years old.

Bob was born in Providence, Rhode Island on March 22, 1949, to parents Jessie and Madeline Heffley. They preceded him in death. When Bob was 10, the family moved to Wichita and quickly became part of the city's west-side community. Bob was a graduate of Bishop Carroll High School and Wichita State University, where he earned a BA and an MBA.

Bob had a decades-long career in sales, working for companies in Arlington, Texas, and later Wichita, Kansas. Employers, colleagues and customers alike were the beneficiaries of his experience and dedications. He retired from M6 Concrete Accessories in Wichita in 2019.

Most of Bob's life was spent in his adopted states of Texas and Kansas, but he never lost his Rhode Island accent. Those who loved him remember a smiling man in a fedora who liked to work in his yard, gather with friends, cook his signature "Heffe-lini" pasta dish for others, and hit the links with his golf buddies.

Bob is survived by cousins in Florida, Kansas and Rhode Island, and many devoted friends who were like family to him. Although Bob had no grand-children, he loved Luca, PJ, Arden and Afton as though they were his own.

A private graveside will be held later. Memorial donations can be made to Harry Hynes Hospice, whose staff on the 8th floor at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis cared for Bob on his final journey with such kindness.
