Rita Joyce Blanton, age 91, of Wichita, Kansas, walked through the gates of Heaven into the House of the Lord, Wednesday, May 28, 2025. She was born in Industry, Kansas, December 4, 1933, the daughter of Edgar and Emma (Luthi) Hinkle.

Rita attended school in Wilsey, Kansas. She worked as a CNA and Ward Clerk at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in Eldorado, Kansas. She had also been employed at Mel Hambelton Ford and Valley Hope of Wichita. She was a member of Faith Renewal Church in Wichita, Kansas.

Rita married Richard G. Blanton in September of 1953. They had 3 children. He preceded her in death in October of 1979. Preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Emma, Alice (sister), Ed (brother), Nick Dyer (son in law), Wesley Stewart (great grandson) and Thaddeus Burgardt (great grandson).

Survivors include: Teresa Dyer of Wichita, Kansas, Richard (Diana) of Emporia, Kansas and John (Ava) of Valley Center, Kansas, 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and John Dotts (longtime friend and confidant).

Celebration of Life will be held at Baker Funeral Home, 6100 E Central, Wichita, Kansas on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held on a future date at Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado, Kansas.
