Rickey J. McGrew. 74, of Wichita, KS, received his eternal reward, Thursday, October 12th, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born June 15, 1949 in Wichita, KS, the son of Hollis Leroy and Fern (Penninger) McGrew.

Rickey graduated from East High School in 1968. In June of the same year Rickey married his lifelong sweetheart, Raenona McGrew, and in July he was drafted into the U.S. Army.

He was sent to boot camp at Ft. Leonard Wood and later sent to Vietnam. In January of 1970 Rickey was wounded in action and received a Purple Heart medal for his service to his country.

Rickey worked as a plumber/pipefitter most of his career and was a proud member of UA Local 441. He retired in 2011 from Spirit Aerosystems.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Raenona of Wichita, KS; sons, Rick (Tish) of Wichita, KS; Jason (Crystal) of Colwich, KS;. 7 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Rickeys life will be held October 28th, at 2:00 p.m. Evangel Assembly of God, 11444 W. 21st St. N, Wichita, KS 67205. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to Missions @ Evangel Assembly of God.
