Augusta, KS - Richard Thompson, Rose Hill native, passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2025.

Richard was a son, brother, father, and friend.  Born in Wichita, KS, on May 10, 1957, he grew up in Rose Hill, KS, and went on to live the majority of his life in the Augusta and Wichita communities.

Richard spent most of his professional career at Aircraft manufacturer Raytheon, now Textron, retiring from the hammer shop with over 30 years tenure.

Richard is preceded in death by his mother, Emma Lou (Boldra), father, Raymond, and sisters Loretta Tillery, and Lawanda "Wannie" Michael (husband - Earl).  Richard is survived by his children and grandchild: daughter, Sarah Trickey (son-in-law Evan Trickey), son, Nathan Thompson, daughter, Jennifer Blackston (son-in-law, Derek Blackston), and grandson, Jason Thompson.

Richard was a religious man with a belief in Jesus Christ.  In lieu of a public service, the family requests in a quiet moment, to say a prayer in his remembrance.  Richard believed he would one day be reunited with his mother and sisters; his departure came sooner than expected.
