Raymond Pompa Sr.

March 21, 1930 – April 26, 2025

Raymond Pompa Sr. was born on March 21, 1930, in Wichita, Kansas, to Sisto Pompa and Hofrocina Guerrero. A proud American and dedicated serviceman, Raymond joined the United States Marine Corps on December 6, 1951. He served with honor during the Korean War, earning the Purple Heart Medal for his bravery in combat. He was discharged on December 5, 1953, with the rank of Private First Class.

Raymond was a man of simple joys and deep connections. He loved playing pool, poker, and cheering on the New York Yankees—especially attending their games whenever he could. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family, whose love and laughter brought him the greatest happiness.

He is survived by his children: Veronica Robinson and husband Kenny of Wichita, Kansas, Monica Story  of  Holdenville, OK, Sonya Brock and husband Tony of Choctaw, Oklahoma , Raymond Pompa Jr. and wife Kama of Haysville, Kansas, David Shawn Rodriguez and wife Leslie of Wichita, Kansas and Raymond Allen Pompa of Wichita, Kansas. He also leaves behind a legacy of love through his 12 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother,  his brother Francisco Guerrero, wife Patricia Pompa,  son in law Michael Wayne Story, grandson, Kyle Lee Brock, great grandsons, Nathias Ray Hawkins-Robinson and Enoch Mikkonapy Robinson.

Pallbearers  are his grandsons Michael Scott Story, Bobby Wayne Robinson, Cody Wayne Story, Loring Dale Robinson, Ethan Jeremy Brock, Joshua DeWayne Robinson, Joseph Tate Pompa and Takoda Robert Pompa

His strength, stories, and spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved and knew him.
