Phyllis Joy Nelson Bock, 100, of Wichita Kansas passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, at her home.  She was born February 6, 1924, in Caldwell, KS, the daughter of Irl and Myrtle (Haskins) Nelson.

Phyllis graduated from Wichita High School North in 1942.  She married Robert E Bock (Bob) on July 5, 1946.  He preceded her in death on December 14, 2013.

Phyllis worked in a number of different jobs, but her favorite "job" was working with Bob on their property-planting trees and flowers, mowing, taking care of the garden and all their fur babies, and enjoying the outdoors.  They loved taking road trips just to see the scenery and try the food in the states in which they lived.  They lived in Kansas, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Florida, and Louisiana (they started moving as soon as the kids left home…).  She loved being around her family and getting and giving hugs.

Phyllis was also preceded in death by her son, Robert E Bock II; her mother and father; brothers Glen, Gordon, Lee, and Elbert Wayne Nelson; Sister Barbara Fowler; great grandson DJ Pederson; and son-in-law Steve Case.

Phyllis is survived by daughter, Vicki Case of Wichita, daughter-in-law, Linda Bock of North Platte, NE; sisters-in-law Shirley Nelson and Karla Fowler; grandchildren Contessa Richter (Brad) of Valley Center; Chris Harder of Wichita; Steven Case (Tessa) of Wichita; Stacy Pederson (David) of Brady, NE; Troy Bock of North Platte, NE; great grandchildren Kirsten Richter of Valley Center; Carryn Richter of Wichita; Blue Feliciano-Case and Maxwell Case of Wichita; Crystal Pedersen, Brodie Pedersen and Kaylee Dodson, all of NE; great, great grandchildren Sophia, Aleyha, Audree, Macey, Joey, Cameron and Wesson, all of NE.

Graveside services will be held at White Chapel Cemetery - 1806 North Oliver - Wichita, Kansas on Monday June 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
