Phillip Dean Wood, 71 of Wichita, KS, passed on to his reward Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Phillip was born on May 28, 1952 in Wichita Kansas to Robert and Frankie (Yohn) Wood.

He graduated from Wichita High School West in 1971. After high school went to work as a machinist at Harlow Aircraft Manufacturing and then on to be a beef loader in a locale beef processing plant. In 1977 he enlisted in the Army where he served until 1981 when he was honorably discharged with the rank of Sgt. After the Army Phillip went back to being a machinist at several small shops and eventually ended up back at Harlow where he got to work along side his Father. Phill stayed there until his retirement.

On December 28, 2001 Phillip married Denise Laporte and had a family in the way of 3 step-sons and later 5 step-grandchildren.

Phillip is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Frankie Wood. He is survived by brother George,  (Patty) Wood of Park City Ks, and brother Floyd Wood of Wichita,Ks.

Services will be on Wednesday June 12, 2024 at 10:00a at the Veterans Cemetery in Winfield Kansas.
