Peggy was a registered nurse for 48 years; her passion was in Labor and Delivery. She retired in October 2024 from Ascension Health Via Christi St Francis. She was a member and the "first lady" of Westlink Regular Baptist Church, and often volunteered at blood drives, her grandchildren's schools, Relay for Life events, and was a regular bell ringer for the Salvation Army at Christmas-time.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dick Smith; daughters Rebekah Heath (Caleb), Rachel Smith, Sarah Jo Gardner (Seth); sister Kathy Miller (Jim); sister Patty Crane (Stan); brother Jimbo Wynne; brother John Wynne (Bridget); brother Tim Wynne (Deanne); sister Kelly Jack (Kyle); and 9 grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, March 29th, 2025 at noon at The Seed Church, 147 S. Hillside, Wichita, KS. One of Peggy's last requests was for those in attendance to wear Kansas City Chiefs gear or red.
