Obituary

Paul Reimers was born on May 7, 1938 to Harry and Clarine Reimers in Wahoo, Nebraska.  Living in Malmo, NE, he was baptized at Edensberg Lutheran Church in June.  The family moved to Greeley, Colorado when he was five.  He participated in scouts earning Eagle Scout and began to play the violin in 3rd grade and played all the way to the Greeley Philharmonic during high school.  He joined his parents at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greeley where he was active in Sunday School, Bible School, and Luther League.  He confirmed his faith in Christ Jesus in 9th grade.

During his 5th year of college Paul felt called into the Lutheran ministry and after graduating from University of Colorado in Boulder with a BS in Business in 1961, he enrolled in the Lutheran School of Theology in Maywood, Illinois.  In the fall of 1962 he met Glennyce Neve, who had come to the Mission School before becoming a missionary teacher in Tanzania for two years. Paul finished Seminary and served an internship at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worcester, MA.    They were married at Faith Lutheran Church in Walters, MN on May 22, 1965.  Paul was ordained into the Lutheran ministry June 27, 1965 and began his first call to First Lutheran Church, Potter, NE.  Paul's second call was to Trinity Lutheran Church, Winside NE and as the Lutheran campus pastor at Wayne State College. In 1977 Paul moved to Osceola to St. Paul Lutheran Church and his final call was to Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington, NE and Trinity Lutheran in Crofton, NE where he served for 13 years before retiring to Wichita, KS.

Paul loved preaching, teaching, and studying God's word.  He wrote a book on the Book of Revelation which led to speaking at many conferences.  He also wrote material on the Gospel of John that he shared for many years.  He loved gardening and making beautiful art out of stained glass, cheering for the Huskers, Shocker Volleyball, and daily walks with his beloved wife. In retirement he enjoyed singing with the Lewis Street Singers, teaching at Life Ventures, and preaching for surrounding churches.   He loved planning and traveling to visit his children and family in many states.

His mind was filled with memories of the Colorado mountains where he had grown up. Later all the great vacation trips to National Parks where he took his family.  He continued to play the violin all his life, learned to play bells, and sang in choirs as long as he could sing praise to Christ, his Lord and Savior .
