As a high school student, he worked at the local drugstore which inspired him to attend the University of Kansas where earned a degree in Pharmacy
Paul's first job as a pharmacist was in El Dorado, KS where he met his wife of nearly 60 years, Linda Londeen. The couple was married in 1958. They later moved to Winfield, KS where Paul was employed at Graves Drug Store and they raised their daughters Kelly and Robin.
Paul was a devoted husband and father. Any interest of Linda's, or his daughters, became an interest of his. Horses, various sporting activities and church activities to name few. In the 1970's he enjoyed being a member of the Winfield Gospelaires Quartet, spreading the word of God through music. When Linda returned to school to obtain a nursing degree Paul managed the girl's morning routine ensuring that they practiced their piano and got to school.
In the 1980's, with their daughter's grown, Paul and Linda moved to Arizona where he continued his work as a Pharmacist for K-Mart. Throughout their 29 years in the southwest they fostered many new friends and hobbies including sightseeing, hiking desert and mountain terrains, home improvement projects and hosting family and friends at their home. Paul and Linda also took up running and participated in many half and full marathons throughout the country. They celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary by completing a half marathon with their daughters in San Francisco.
A few years later, when Linda began exhibiting symptoms of Alzheimer's Disease, Paul and Linda decided to return to Wichita, KS to be closer to family. Paul remained steadfast, at Linda's side, for the next six years as the disease gradually took her life. During his years in Wichita Paul served as a volunteer at Via Christi St. Joseph Hospital. He made many good friends in his neighborhood and at The Regent Independent Living and Memory Care facilities.
