Patty L. Lasley was a native of Princeton, Indiana. She was the youngest of four siblings born to Charles and Armelia Speed. She received her education in Princeton and was actively involved in Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church during her formative years before becoming a member of St. Paul Baptist Church. Throughout her life, Patty held various occupations, but her true passion lay in serving others through organizing church events and supporting community members. In 2020, Patty made the decision to relocate to Wichita, Kansas, to be closer to her family, where she spent her remaining years.
Unfortunately, following the loss of her only son, Preston Speed, in January 2026, Patty's health began to deteriorate. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Armelia Speed, as well as her brothers Charles Speed Jr. and Larry Speed, and her sister Sharon Glass. She is survived by her cherished grandchildren: Blythen (Denise) Bobbitt of Evansville, Indiana; Zekiah and Jaseth Speed of Mt. Carmel, IL. Additionally, she is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
We cordially invite you to join us in commemorating the life of Patty Lasley, a compassionate individual whose acts of kindness and generosity have left an enduring impact on many.
