Obituary

Ouida Del Schneider, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 7, 2025.

She passed away quietly in her sleep in Wichita, Kansas.  She was the daughter of Ralph and Eunice Wood. Ouida was born on June 1, 1930 in Roanoke, VA.

She was preceded by her husband William (Bill) Schneider II, two brothers Richard and Francis Cundiff, and her daughter-in-law Barbara Johnson. Ouida was 95 years old.

She was raised in Roanoke, Virginia, but over the years she lived in San Francisco, Wichita, and San Diego. She was a house wife, member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Sorority, and owned a clothing boutique in Wichita, KS for several years. She enjoyed reading, ballet, and musical theatre.

One of her greatest joys was traveling the world with her family and friends. Some of her favorite travels were Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. She believed travel broadened the mind and increased compassion towards people.

Ouida is survived by her daughter Charisse Garcia (Nacho), son Jay Johnson, son Blake Johnson (Kim), son Kurt Schneider (Patricia), and daughter Lynne Callison (Dwane), 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

There will be a celebration service of her life at Olivet Baptist Church on August 15, 2025 at 11 AM.
