Norma Jean McGeeney, 83, of Mulvane, KS, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025.  She was born June 14, 1942, in Hamilton County, Florida, the daughter of Harvey David Parr and Evelyn Walker Parr.

Norma graduated from Jasper High School, Jasper, FL, in 1960.  She then furthered her studies to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She was a nurse at Tucker Hospital in Tucker, GA.  After years of nursing, she changed careers and went to work for the Internal Revenue Service.  She retired from the IRS as a tax examiner.

She married Terrence J. McGeeney in 1963 and was married for two years.  This union produced two children, Tresa Maureen Friesen and Terrence J. McGeeney, Jr.  She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Evelyn Parr, and brother, William J Parr.

Survivors include daughter, Tresa M. Friesen (James) of Peck, KS; son, Joe McGeeney of Grain Valley, MO; brother, Ray Parr of Montana; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer DeCou (Jeremy), TJ McGeeney (Shelby), Ashley McGeeney, and Madelyn Friesen; 4 great-grandchildren, Oliver DeCou, Amelia DeCou, Henry DeCou and Jasper Brown.

There will be a private memorial dinner with her family on August 10, 2025, with interment at the Clardy Family Cemetery in Jasper, FL at a later date.
