Nina Barten, age 74, peacefully passed from this life to the next on June 1, 2024 in Wichita, KS, her home for more than 30 years.

She spent her life caring for others through her work, at church, and in her family. Nina grew up in Iowa, Michigan and Indiana; moving to Minneapolis, MN and Kansas as an adult. She enjoyed musical theater, volleyball, reading, needlework, cooking, church, and visiting her nieces and nephews. For years she sponsored a child in Tanzania, East Africa.

Nina was the fourth of five children of Herbert and Pauline Barten. Nina is survived by her three sisters, Phyllis B. Harris, Carol Alfred (Joe), Polly B. Gordon, sister-in-law Ann S. Barten, brother-in-law Paul R. Harris, and her beloved nieces and nephews David Harris (Laura Brashear), Rachel Harris, Sarah Diaz (Daniel), Daniel Barten (Emily), Hannah Santoyo (Emilio), Andrew Barten (Jamie), Kathryne Del Sesto (Gino), Elizabeth Alfred (Allen Grimm), and many grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Bruce Palmer Barten and brother-in-law Irving Gordon.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 27th at 10:30 a.m. in Eastminster Presbyterian's chapel, 1958 N. Webb Road, Wichita.
