Obituary

Michael Lynn Sucher, 74, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at his home with family by his side. Michael was born May 9, 1949, in Dalhart, Texas to Gladys Katherine and Leonard Nicholie Sucher. Careers moved his family to Wichita where he was raised alongside his brother. The two were true long-haired rebels learning about life one onery adventure at a time. That is until he met the love of his
life, Karen, at the Cotillion's Battle of the Bands in 1967. True love transformed Michael and soon he married Karen on April
20, 1968. Together they built a lifelong companionship of unconditional love with three children.

Michael had career in construction and was an excellent carpenter. His work ethic was unmatched and because of his mechanical ingenuity, you can find his impeccable carpentry work in a small carved box up to a large shopping mall. Michael, alongside his son, family, and friends, spent evenings and weekends building their final home. He took pride in all he created and everything he did was for his family. Michael was an avid reader, loved sudoku puzzles, and a good game of golf. Michael was a true patriot and was a well- educated historian. His creativity can be seen in his wood working, paintings, and drawings. Travel was another love of Michael's with the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee being his all
time favorite.

Your family will miss you, immensely. You were our safety net when we stumbled, our "go-to" when life got rough, and our sanity in this crazy world. You gave us sound logic when we needed clarity and comfort when we needed compassion. You were always someone we could count on, and although you were a straight shooter, you always got your point across with love and sound advice. You always inspired us to make decisions after thinking things through and never stop fighting for what's right. You gave 110% to each of us equally and because of that
we are all better people.

Michael is survived by his wife, Karen Sucher, daughter Tricia Nicks, daughter Jennifer Snodgrass and her husband Alex Snodgrass, son Joshua Sucher and his wife Casey Ritchie, grandchildren Hannah Cook, Lauren Henning, Craig Nicks , Austin Snodgrass, Maddison Snodgrass, Alexis Snodgrass, Keegan Snodgrass, Ainsley Sucher, and Abram Sucher, and great grandchildren Laikyn Cook, Rowan Cook, Copelynn Snodgrass - Troyer, Ridge Raiburn, Ryker Raiburn, and Lofton Raiburn.

Michael is preceded in death by his mother Katie Sucher, father Lynn Sucher, brother Dennis Sucher, and great grandson Naylor Raiburn.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m., January 25, 2024 at Riverlawn Christian Church, 4243 N. Meridian Ave, Wichita, Kansas, 67204.
