Michael Elmer Steele, 68, of Newton. KS, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024 at NMC Health with family by his side. He was born June 20, 1955, in Stafford, KS, the son of Jake and Yvonne Steele.

Michael graduated from Newton High School in 1973.

He was a truck driver. He loved hunting and fishing with his wife and family members. Always loved playing a good game of dominoes with his family.

He married Karen Louise Fillmore on June 15, 1996. He was preceded in death by his parents Jake and Yvonne Steele; granddaughter Echo Tomasello; step daughter Christine Malone; and Ace.

Survivors include his wife Karen L. Steele of Newton, KS; son Fred Tomasello (Veronica) of Augusta, KS; sister Michele Steele of Wichita KS; brothers Pat (Paula), Tim (Joanna), and Todd (Deb) all of Newton KS; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild in Utah.

There will be a private gathering at a later date.
