Obituary

Michael "Mick" Parrott passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and his devoted wife of 55 years, Connie. Born in Colby, Kansas, on January 3, 1949, to William and Nancy Parrott, Mick lived a life defined by faith, family and service to others.

A proud graduate of Colby High School and Fort Hays State University, Mick earned a degree in Business and Education. In 1970, Mick married his high school sweetheart, Connie Jo Ramsey, and together they built a beautiful family with love and a lot of laughter.

Throughout his career, Mick held various roles—including work at Cox Produce, Pizza Hut, and Cessna—with the last 30+ years of his work life as the proud owner of Parrott Lawn Service, a family-run business he operated alongside Chad. His work ethic was unmatched, and he instilled in his family the values of integrity, humility, and service to others.

Mick was known for his deep faith in God, his unwavering commitment to his family, and his ability to bring a corny joke to any occasion. His laughter was contagious and reflected his outgoing personality—simple reminders of the happiness he found in everyday life and the joy he gave to others.

Mick is preceded in death by his parents, William and Nancy Parrott; his brother, Tom Parrott; and his youngest son, Jereme Parrott.

Mick leaves behind his loving wife, Connie; his son Chad Parrott (Christine); his daughter Mandy Graham (Bobby); and his daughter-in-law Crystal Morton (Josh). He was a proud grandfather to Taylor (Morgan), Aaron (Emily), Mikayla (Dallas), Emma, Gavin, Nicholas, Carter, and Hannah, and a great-grandfather to Wesley, Walker, Wyatt, and Jaxon. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

A celebration of Mick's life will be held on Saturday, November 1st at 10:00 a.m. at Southrock Christian Church in Derby. All who knew and loved Mick are invited to join the family in honoring the life of a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
