Matthew Alan Bottenberg

Matthew (Matt) Alan Bottenberg, 61, of Wichita, KS passed away September 17, 2026 in Wichita, KS, the son of Larry (Bottenberg and Patricia (Jerry) Doyle.

Matt is survived by his children, Chase Bottenberg, Molly Bottenberg (Sage Dingman), and Sarah Bottenberg; his siblings, Laurie Bottenberg, Jennifer Bottenberg, and Braden Bottenberg (Andrea Bottenberg); his stepmother, Barbara Bottenberg, his nieces and nephew, and his 3 grandchildren, Daisy Dingman, Cohen Dingman, and Violet Martinez-Bottenberg.

He is preceded in death by his father, Larry Bottenberg, mother, Patricia Doyle, stepfather, Jerry Doyle, and sister Angelee Walker.

Matt was a devoted father, son, brother, friend, and a genuinely caring person who had a way of making people feel welcome. He had a heart for helping others and would often go out of his way to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. His sense of humor was one of the things people loved most about him. Matt had the best jokes, a quick wit, and a way of making people laugh even when they needed it most.

Matt spent much of his life building—not only homes, but relationships and memories. As a general contractor, he made countless connections throughout the home-building community. He had a true passion for building and creating homes where families could gather, grow, and make lifelong memories. His work was more than a career; it was something he took pride in and something that allowed him to leave a lasting mark on the lives of others.

Matt was also deeply connected to the Wichita Fellowship Club, a sober living community where he found friendship, support, and meaningful connections with like-minded individuals. The relationships he formed there became an important part of his life, and he treasured the people he met along the way.

Above all, Matt will be remembered for his caring heart, his willingness to help others, his humor, and the connections he made with the people around him. Like all of us, his life held both beautiful moments and difficult chapters, but those who loved him will remember him as a whole person—with all the love, laughter, memories, and impact he leaves behind.

Though Matt is no longer with us, the homes he built, the people he helped, the friendships he formed, and the laughter he shared will continue to be part of the lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
