Mary Ellen Adkins

Mary Ellen Adkins, 65 years old, from Wichita Kansas, crossed the rainbow bridge on Friday, October 23rd 2026, leaving the love she gave us, living on forever in our hearts.

Mary was born in February on the 11th, 1961, in Wichita, Kansas, to Paul Adrian Adkins and May Christine Adkins.

She was raised in Benton, Kansas. Going to school at Circle high; sharing memories with her many friends and acquaintances.

She was a sweet and gentle soul who spent her life caring for others, working nights at the nursing home so she could spend her days watching over her grandbabies.

Her patients were dear to her heart, but her family was her greatest joy. Her two children share fond memories shadowing their mother on those late night shifts; enjoying butterscotch candies.

The things that gave her joy were planting flowers every summer, baking sweets with her grandkids, but most certainly she loved spending time with her family.

Whether she was helping her children or spoiling her grandkids, her days were filled with pure love, warm hugs, and sweet smiles that brightened every room.

Mary is survived by her loving children, April and her spouse David Rogers; along with their four kids Andrew (Jada), Kristopher (Izzy), Nathaniel (Chenoa), and Jordan (Makalya) Rogers.

Her son Dennis (Janice) , and grandson Christian McClaflin.

Her legacy is also carried on through her four great grandkids Dezaro, Diavani, Damingo, and Xilyn.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and May Adkins followed by her brothers, Ronald, Donald, Jim, John, and Roy. Also Kristopher's late twin sister Selena Marie Rogers, and Jada's Daughter Lynnix JaeAnn who she now holds tight in heaven. Also proceeds in death by Sharon Adkins (sister n Law) Kimberly (Niece)

For those who wish to join us to honor her life we ask that you dress accordingly: Pink shirt and pants whether that's jeans or slacks; pink dress attire.

A Celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM on October 31st at Benton Church; 14300 South West 20th St. Benton, Kansas. We welcome friends and family to come show their love and support for their loss. If you can not attend in person there will be a live stream on Facebook at The Benton Church (tbc). After the ceremony guests are welcome to food and refreshments provided.

To honor Mary’s lifelong dedication to helping others, the family requests that donations be made to Blood Cancer United in lieu of flowers.

“Her song has ended, but the melody lingers on, leaving family and friends with love felt deep, laughter that brightens the darkness of night, and a richness that no money could ever provide. ” - Irving Berlin
