Martin "Marty" Lynn Maddox, 61, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 in Wichita, Kansas. Marty was born on April 20, 1965, in Ganado, Arizona to Richard and Velma (Jones) Maddox. He had two older siblings, Richard "Ricky" Maddox and Belinda (Maddox) Loya.

He grew up in Gallup, New Mexico and later made his home in Cimarron, Kansas where he married, had three sons, and built a life and career as a dedicated truck driver and skilled diesel mechanic. Marty was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who had a passion for working on guns and with his dogs. He also coached both shooting sports and youth wrestling, and supported kids—including his own
boys—both on and off the mat.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Richard. He is survived by his sister Belinda, and also leaves behind his former spouse, Rayna (Smith) Maddox; their three sons: Aaron, his partner Breezy, and her daughter Phoebe; Kyle and his husband Joseph; and Jason and his wife Brittany, as well as his cherished granddaughter Kinzel, the daughter of Jason and Brittany, who had him completely wrapped
around her finger.

A celebration of life for Marty will be held on May 30, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the home of his son, Jason at 676 Flint, Grenola, Kansas 67346. This will be a come-and-go gathering, with snacks and refreshments provided. All who knew and loved Marty are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maddox family to assist with funeral expenses are welcomed. Contributions may be made payable to Jason Maddox and sent to 676 Flint, Grenola, KS. Cards may also be sent to this address.

Whether he had a cup of coffee in hand or was talking about trucks, his fondness for life's simple pleasures—especially strawberry ice cream—was unmistakable. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. His memory will live on in all who knew and loved him.
