Marsha Lee Lawrence

Marsha Lee Lawrence, 86, of Newton Ks, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026. She was born November 9, 1939 in LaJunta Colorado the daughter of Myrna (Shore) and Raymond Cockrum. She grew up in Winfield Ks and then moved to Newton, KS getting her GED at Newton High school. She married Dale Leon Lawrence on July 2, 1961. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2025, after 64 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Myrna and Raymond Cockrum; her stepson, Stephen Lawrence; her grandson, Christopher Lawrence and sister, Rayleen Sadowski. Survivors include daughter, Lisa Nettleton of Wichita, son Dane Lawrence (Melissa) of Newton, Grandchildren Sara Nettleton of El Dorado, Ks, Danielle (Shawn) Miller of Avon, Colorado, Matthew (Kori) Lawrence of Andover, Ks, Kelby (Lina) Lawrence Deschamps of Wichita. Great grandchildren Winter, Tate, Jude, Poppy and Ewan and two great-great grandchildren. Marsha worked for 26 years at Safeway and made many friendships during that time. She then worked 26 years for Druber Donuts and loved visiting with the customers. Marsha also filled her time working for Central Homecare and Hospice along with being a caregiver to numerous people. On Friday and Saturday mornings you could find her at the garage sales looking for bargains. She loved helping her grandchildren and had a caring heart for all furry animals. There will be a private memorial with immediate family at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Harvey County Humane Society.
