Mark Eugene Ogilbee, 69, passed away on August 17, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas. He was born June 5, 1957, in Wichita, to Orval and Mildred Ogilbee.
Mark grew up in Duncan, Oklahoma, and spent many years there and in Lawton before returning to Wichita. As a teenager, he played the trumpet in a brass marching band. He built a long career as a master HVAC technician, and was highly skilled at his trade. He loved his motorcycle, and rode it every chance he got. In his younger years, he also loved to dance, and spent much of his spare time in the dance halls.
He lived simply and kept little, but what he kept mattered to him. Bubba, his dog, was rarely out of his sight, and the photographs he left behind are full of him. He kept a Bible in his apartment, and in one of his last conversations with his daughter, he shared that he believed he was going to Heaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Mildred Ogilbee, and his sister, Lisa Helzer.
He is survived by his daughters, Jessica Smith and Kayla Barnes; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his sisters, Diane Cowan and her husband, Wesley, and Jeannie Ogilbee; and several nieces and nephews.
No services will be held. He will be missed by those who knew him.
