Obituary

Marilyn Hiebert, 79, Newton, KS, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025, in Wichita, KS. She was born August 10, 1945 in Florida, to Eugene & Doris (McCoy) Hague. She graduated from Walton High School. Marilyn was united in marriage to Richard Hiebert on October 20, 1963, and her second husband Jim Martin on October 6, 2007.

Marilyn held numerous jobs; homemaker, nursing home cook and pie baker for several local restaurants. She was well known for cooking and managing The Whistle Stop Cafe in Walton for many years with Richard. Marilyn was an excellent cook, enjoyed camping, spending time with family and was always working on another cross-stitch project.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Richard, January 23, 2003, second husband Jim, two brothers, Stanly Hague and Larry Hague, and one grandchild. She is survived by her sons Tim (Judy) Hiebert of Marion, KS; Lee (DeVon) Hiebert of Walton, KS; Matt (Nikki) Hiebert of Sweetwater, TX; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother Rodney Hague; two sisters Deborah (Tony) Ozbun, and Sheryl Kennedy; numerous nieces and nephews. A private Celebration of Life was held by the family.
