Lyle D. "Cookie" Nelson, 93, of Wichita, KS, passed away June 19, 2024. He was born August 15, 1930, in Dresden, KS, the son of George P. and Marguerite (Guipre) Nelson.

Lyle graduated from Parson High School and Pittsburg State college. He served in the US Air Force.

He was the head Timekeeper for the Katy Railroad in Denison, TX. Lyle was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church in Denison.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers George and Roger.

He is survived by his brother, Terry J. Nelson of Wichita, and nephews and nieces.
