Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we are sharing the unexpected passing of Lisa Anne Riel-Gordanier.  Lisa spent her life surrounded by the love of her family and furry 4 legged friends.  We love knowing that she is being welcomed to heaven by her mother, Marge Leader, her daughter, Laura and all her pets that crossed the Rainbow Bridge.  Lisa is survived by sons, Jordan Riel-Hill and Cayce Gordanier, daughter, Samantha (Steven) Young, sister, Judi (Bill) Mullis, grandsons, Daniel & Avery Young, Nephew, Tavis Riel, niece, Ciera Navarette, lifelong best friend, Darla Abernathy, numerous dogs and cats.

Lisa started working at a young age in the restaurant industry achieving the position of Chief Financial Officer for Latour Management for almost 40 years.  She loved spending time with her family, camping, reading cheesy romance novels, thrifting, visiting estate sales, sitting by the fire at night, and taking photos of her adventures.  She was a kind and gentle soul who had a relaxed attitude and was loved by everyone who knew her.  All animals could sense her kind and pure nature. Lisa always put the needs of others before her own and was the original creator of gentle parenting.  We cannot fathom how much we will miss her. Every little thing about her has left a lasting mark on our lives. We will always cherish the memories we shared and hold them close to our hearts.

A celebration of Lisa's life will be held at the Cottonwood Shelter inside Sedgwick County Park, March 24, 2024 from 11 am - 3 pm.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the Kansas Humane Society, kshumane.org. Alternatively, we are collecting comfort care items to donate to Harry Hynes Hospice. A donation receptacle will be provided for items such as blankets, pajama gowns, lotions, crosswords, or any other items that could provide comfort to the patients. We would appreciate any kindness you could offer.

To send flowers or plant a memorial tree in memory, please visit our flower store.
