Lisa Marie Dillon

In Loving Memory of Lisa Marie Dillon (Telkamp)

Lisa Marie Dillon (Telkamp) was born on May 30, 1970, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Carol Crain (Ronald “Bud”) and Marlin Telkamp (Gerri). She graduated from Brookings High School in 1988.

Lisa began her career as a medical assistant and went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 2009. She dedicated her professional life to caring for others, a reflection of the compassion she carried with her throughout her life.

Lisa passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Wesley Medical Center, surrounded by her four children.

Those who knew Lisa knew she had a dry sense of humor that could keep you laughing, a strong will, and a stubborn streak that was simply part of who she was. And honestly, her family wouldn’t have wanted her any other way. She had a way of being unapologetically herself, leaving behind memories that will bring both smiles and laughter for years to come.

Beneath that strong-willed exterior was a heart full of love and compassion. Lisa was the kind of person who would help someone in need, even when she was facing struggles of her own. Life wasn’t always easy, and she faced her share of challenges, but those struggles never took away her ability to love with her whole heart.

Lisa loved to shop, and if there was one thing her family could count on, it was that she would never miss a holiday or a birthday party. She showed up for the moments that mattered, creating memories and making sure she was part of the celebrations with the people she loved. And, of course, she had a special talent for driving her family nuts—something they can now remember with a smile and a laugh.

Above all, Lisa was a mother, a grandmother, a sister, and a woman who loved deeply. Her love wasn’t defined by perfection or an easy life, but by the heart she carried and the people who mattered most to her.

Lisa leaves behind her four children: Ethan (Anastasia) Bunde of Newton, Kansas; Hunter (Jaymee) Dillon of Mulvane, Kansas; Avery (Cole) Henderson of Mulvane, Kansas; and Berkleigh Dillon of Mulvane, Kansas.

She will also be lovingly remembered by her beloved dog, Bella, who held a special place in her heart.

She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Cooper, Hadley, Memphis, and Madilyn Bunde, and John Henderson, who will carry her memory forward in their own lives.

She is also survived by her sister, Lori (Dennis) Kellar of Brookings, South Dakota.

Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Crain (Hirmer); her stepfather, Ronald “Bud” Crain, both of Wichita, Kansas; her father, Marlin Telkamp; her stepmother, Gerri Telkamp, of Watertown, South Dakota; and her brother, Jeffrey Telkamp, of Brookings, South Dakota.

Though Lisa’s life held both struggles and beautiful moments, she will be remembered for the person she was: funny, stubborn, strong-willed, compassionate, and full of love. She leaves behind a family who will miss her presence, her humor, her unforgettable personality, and even the little things that used to drive them crazy.

In honoring Lisa’s wishes, her family has chosen not to hold a funeral service or celebration of life. While there will be no formal gathering, those who loved Lisa are encouraged to remember her in their own way, sharing stories, holding onto the laughter, and cherishing the memories they made with her.

Some people leave behind more than memories. They leave behind pieces of themselves in the people they love. Lisa’s legacy will live on through her children, her grandchildren, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

She was loved with all her imperfections, and she will be missed beyond words. She was one of a kind, and her family wouldn’t have wanted her any other way. She will be missed more than words can express and loved for a lifetime.
