Linda Dibble Nicholas, born September 8, 1946, in Stockton, KS, peacefully departed this world on May 2, 2024 after battling cancer. Leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication. She was the beloved daughter of Maxine and Dale D. Dibble, and the cherished older sister to five siblings.

Raised on a farm in Woodston, KS, Linda's journey was one of both academic excellence and heartfelt service. Linda graduated as Salutatorian from Woodston Rural High School in 1964. Her passion for caring led her to Asbury Hospital School of Nursing in Salina, KS, where she graduated as Valedictorian in 1967, igniting a lifelong commitment to nursing.

For over two decades, Linda's unwavering dedication graced numerous departments in various hospitals, touching countless lives with her compassionate care. In 1992, Linda embarked on a new chapter, marrying Arnie Nicholas in Joplin, MO, where she worked at St. John's hospital. Together, they relocated to Valley Center, KS, in 2001 where Linda continued her nursing career at Kansas Heart Hospital until 2020.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Linda found joy in traveling, sewing and music, playing the piano and organ for numerous churches throughout her life. Her talents and generosity enriched worship services and brought solace to many. Family was at the center of Linda's world. She and Arnie created many memories, traveling across states with their grandchildren and later, great-grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her loving children, Janice Fontes, Tracy (Julia) Herrick, step-son Michael (Katie) Nicholas, step-daughter Debra (Johnnie) Harrison.

She was the beloved grandma to 10 grandchildren; Amanda (Weston) Corning, Hanna Fontes, Jessica Fontes, Lindey (Adam) Eptig, Patricia Herrick, Jose Manuel Lopez, April Lee, Shelley Holland, Jason (Tiffany) McCall, Tiffany (Dayle) Marshall.

She was the loving great grandma to 5 great grandchildren; Hadley, Hayden, Kylie, Ashley and Marshall.

She is also survived by her 5 siblings; Max (Pam) Dibble, Lucille Dibble, Helen (Larry) Smith, Ramona Dibble, Bill (Dixie) Dibble, and 2 sister-in-laws; Nola (Jerry) Deffenbaugh and Nelva (Ron) McNeff; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arnold "Arnie" Nicholas, her step-son Roger Nicholas.

Her presence, marked by kindness and compassion, will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Though Linda may have left this world, her kind-hearted spirit and her legacy of love will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
