Linda Jean Herman, 77, of Eureka, KS, passed away Monday, December 30, 2024 at Greenwood County Hospital surrounded by friends and family. She was born November 6, 1947, in Hawthorne, CA, the daughter of Earl & Catherine Smith.

Linda grew up in southern California. She married Robert A Herman III on October 9, 1976, and gave birth to their daughter, Lacy Scarbrough (Herman) in 1978. She and her husband owned their own residential and commercial cleaning business for many years while living in southern California until they moved to Eureka, KS in November of 1999 following their daughters' move to Eureka in 1996.  While living in Eureka, Linda worked as a waitress at Cindy's Copper Kettle for four years and was a substitute para at Marshall Elementary School where she greatly enjoyed working with children with special needs. Linda loved people and touched the hearts of many she met in her years living in Eureka.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl & Catherine Smith and granddaughter, Faith Autumn Scarbrough.

Survivors include husband of 48 years, Robert A. Herman III; daughter, Lacy Scarbrough; two step-granddaughters of Eureka, KS; and brother, Jack M. Smith of Torrance, CA.

A celebration of life will be at her daughter and son-in-law's home this spring.
