Lillian Philomena VanHooser, 87, of Augusta, KS, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025, after a brief stay at Wesley Woodlawn Hospital.  She was born June 6, 1937 in Schoenchen, KS the daughter of Joe and Philomena (Klaus) Dreher.

Lillian was a wonderful mother, nanny, friend, aunt, and sister. She spent her life taking care of children with an in-home daycare while raising her own three daughters.  Once her family was grown, Lillian spent several years as a custodian with the local school district.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon VanHooser; her parents, Joe and Philomena Dreher; six brothers - Alex, Eddie, Ernie, Norbert, Walter, and Victor; five Sisters - Agnes Spies, Albertine Haselhorst, Angie Herrman, Marcella Herrman, and Rosina Brungardt-Rohr; and her son-in-law, Donald Wait

Lillian is survived by her daughters: Joleen K Dreher of Augusta, June Brown (Craig) of Andover, and Julie Wait of Wichita. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lisa Bryers (Ashley) of Salem, Oregon and Chad Brown of Boulder, Colorado; her new great-grandson Rhys Bryers of Salem, Oregon, and her brother, Irvin Dreher of Hays, KS.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m on June 10, 2025 at St. Vincent De Paul, Catholic Church in Andover, Kansas.  Burial will follow at Andover Cemetery.
