Leslie Ray (Pops, Pop Pop, Pappy) Maixner Jr., passed away Friday, May 23, 2025 after a short illness. He was born in Winfield, Ks on October 30, 1947 to Leslie Sr and Wilda Maixner.
He attended school in Winfield and his parents, and siblings moved to Douglas, and then Andover, Kansas to attend four years of high school there. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army for two years and was honorably discharged with many medals, too numerous to mention. He lived in Andover, Ks for many years and then moved to Wichita to live there until his death. He enjoyed working/volunteering at many different locations/Coleman company including and most favorite, RiverFest every May for a number of years. Les was well loved and had so many awesome stories of his time in the Army and was so fun-loving and a very sweet man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Gary Maixner and a sister, Carolyn Borg.
Survivors include one son, Brian, a grandchild, cousins Barbara, Wichita, KS David (Diane) Borg, Rhonda Borg of Andover, Ks; Linda, Beverly of New Mexico, Cheryl Borg, Jim (Shirley) niece/nephew, and other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services pending....Burial will be in Winfield, Ks at National Veteran's Cemetery and will notify friends/family by phone.
